The Story

Drove to Wales.
Got sacked. Built it anyway.

This isn't a polished origin story. It's the truth about how WRS Group started — and why I now spend my time helping other service business owners do the same.

James Weekes

Monday morning. Drove to Wales for a job I was excited about. Got sacked first thing. Long drive home to think about it.

That same month, I started WRS Group. No safety net. No course. No mentor. Just a phone, a Defender, and the realisation that nobody was coming to save me.

Today WRS is a multi 7-figure service operation with a team, a unit, and Tier 1 & Tier 2 clients. I'm not telling you that to flex — I'm telling you because most "business advice" online is written by people who have never built anything real.

I have. So everything I publish here comes from doing it. Not theorising about it.

Why I Do This

Because most service business owners get sold fairy tales.

The gurus selling £20k courses have never employed anyone. The YouTube "experts" have never invoiced a real client. The 22-year-old "consultants" have never had to make payroll on a Friday.

I build products, programmes and a mentorship offer for the people who are actually doing the work. The ones who want the truth — not the dream.
